Why Test for Microplastics?
Research links microplastics to cancer, asthma, fatigue, metabolic disorders, organ dysfunction, and reproductive issues.
See Your Exposure
PlasticTest gives everyone the ability to test and identify their own microplastic exposure so you can take appropriate action to reduce your risk of negative health impacts.
Peer-Reviewed & Validated Test
Tests are processed in a specially designed, plastic-free lab to avoid contamination. The assay is peer-reviewed and independently validated, and the lab is CLIA/COLA certified.
Easy Online Results
After purchase, you’ll register for an OHS Health Portal account to view your test results online as soon as they’re ready and share them with your doctor.
Knowledge is power, and testing the level of microplastics you have circulating within your blood gives you the power to make change. By offering this simple, at-home test, we’re giving everyone the ability to determine their own level of plastic exposure. From what we’ve seen ourselves, knowing your number (of plastic particles in your blood sample) really makes the problem obvious and motivates rapid change to reduce the risk of long-term health damage.
The evidence of widespread microplastic contamination is beyond question. Study after study has found evidence that almost everyone is carrying detectable amounts of microplastics as well as their associated chemicals (BPA, PFAS, phthalates, etc.).
And those contaminants are linked to a range of adverse health effects: Metabolic disturbances, endocrine disruption, immune response, inflammation, and more. Long-term exposure is associated with elevated risk of cancer, metabolic syndrome, and a host of other chronic health issues.
So if microplastic contamination is pervasive, the question then becomes: How much exposure do I have?
PlasticTest is the first publicly available way to find out.
Your microplastic load depends on a number of factors, including your occupation, place of work, diet (fast food and packaged food are common vectors), water sources, and more.
But once you know your own exposure, you can take appropriate steps to start detoxifying and minimizing your risk of further exposure.
Reducing levels of plastic contaminants in your body is critical for minimizing health risks. Don’t wait to find out after the damage has been done!
Since PlasticTest is one individual per account, each person taking the test must have their own account that their PlasticTest is bought under so that it will be properly linked with the OHS Health Portal.
PlasticTest is a blood test. Participants collect a dried blood sample, generally by pricking the side of a finger with the included lancet and allowing a few drops of blood to fall on the blood card.
PlasticTest is separate from Nutrients Rx, but the test results will be delivered to your OHS Health Portal, similar to NRx.
The test was developed by Arrow Lab Solutions, a cutting edge R&D firm working in the realm of environmental toxicology. They are currently involved in several studies and research programs involving microplastics in brain tissue, blood, human organs, and other bodily fluids.
Using imaging techniques, every particle with a size of 1-70 µm is detected and counted in the sample.
We recommend two tests to start. Take your first PlasticTest to evaluate your exposure. Then take Chemzyme for a minimum of 45 days and then take your second PlasticTest. Maintenance testing can be taken every 4-6 months after as wanted.
1. Take Chemzyme—it contains Phthalazyme, the first and only enzyme specifically designed to digest and detoxify plastics like phthalates.
2. Reduce your exposure to additional microplastics by removing or replacing plastic items in your home—especially things that come into contact with your food. For example, replace plastic food storage containers with glass or metal containers. Avoid heating anything in plastic cups, mugs, or containers, and avoid placing hot food or liquids in plastic.
